CORPORATION TAX & CT600 SERVICES
Corporation Tax is a major responsibility for UK limited companies. Alongside day-to-day bookkeeping and annual accounts, businesses need accurate tax calculations, a Company Tax Return (CT600) and payment by the relevant deadline. Samsaad provides practical Corporation Tax accounting support for company directors, helping you understand your tax position, prepare supporting records and meet HMRC reporting requirements.
From a first Company Tax Return to ongoing annual compliance, we aim to make Corporation Tax clearer and less stressful.
Tell us about your limited company, its financial year-end and whether you need a CT600 return, a tax calculation or ongoing accounting support. We will discuss the next steps.
CORPORATION TAX SUPPORT FOR UK COMPANIES
Corporation Tax is charged on a company’s taxable profits, which may be different from the profit shown in its annual accounts. Allowable expenses, capital allowances, losses and relevant reliefs can affect the calculation. Companies also need to separate the Corporation Tax payment date from the CT600 filing deadline.
Samsaad can help prepare your Corporation Tax computation, compile the information for the return and support electronic filing with HMRC. Our services work alongside limited company accounts and bookkeeping, so your tax figures are based on reliable financial records.
We also help directors understand how their accounting period affects filing and payment dates, including situations where a new company’s first accounts cover more than 12 months.
Whether your company is filing its first tax return or preparing for another year-end, we can discuss the services you need. The scope of work depends on your company’s activities, accounting records, taxable profits and HMRC obligations.
Help understanding when HMRC must be informed that a company has started trading and how its Corporation Tax accounting period is established.
Preparing the information needed for your Company Tax Return, checking relevant accounting periods and supporting the electronic filing process.
Reviewing taxable profits and relevant adjustments to calculate the company’s Corporation Tax liability and identify appropriate accounting treatment.
Considering applicable expenses, capital allowances, brought-forward losses and relevant tax reliefs where the company meets the conditions.
Coordinating Corporation Tax work with annual accounts, bookkeeping and supporting documents so the figures used for reporting remain consistent.
Helping you understand payment and CT600 filing dates, review HMRC notices and organise information when questions or amendments arise.
For financial years beginning on or after 1 April 2026, the standard UK Corporation Tax rates for companies outside the ring-fence regime are generally 19% for profits of £50,000 or less and 25% for profits of £250,000 or more. Marginal Relief may apply between the thresholds. The limits can be reduced for short accounting periods and associated companies, and other circumstances can affect the calculation.
We use your company’s accounting records and relevant HMRC rules to work out the appropriate tax treatment. For official rate information, see HMRC Corporation Tax rates and allowances.

Company tax work should start with clear bookkeeping, realistic timelines and an understanding of the company’s actual activities. Samsaad takes time to review your accounting period, records, deductible costs and filing obligations before recommending the appropriate work.
We can support company directors with Corporation Tax alongside annual limited company accounts, management accounts and tax planning. We do not promise a particular tax saving: claims and reliefs depend on eligibility and evidence.
BUSINESSES WE SUPPORT
A startup filing its first CT600, a profitable trading company and a company reporting losses may need different accounting work. We support limited companies with company tax calculations, record preparation and reporting based on their circumstances. HMRC usually requires payment nine months and one day after the Corporation Tax accounting period ends, while the CT600 is normally due 12 months after that period ends. Large companies can have earlier instalment requirements.
The former joint HMRC and Companies House online filing service closed on 31 March 2026. From 1 April 2026, companies generally use suitable commercial software to file Company Tax Returns with HMRC. Your Companies House accounts have a separate filing process and deadline. See HMRC’s updated filing guidance.

SWITCHING CORPORATION TAX ACCOUNTANTS
If you want to change accountants, Samsaad can discuss a professional handover of your company accounts, past Corporation Tax filings, tax computations and important HMRC deadlines. We will review the work needed, explain the information to provide and agree the scope before starting.
Corporation Tax is a tax on the taxable profits of UK companies and certain other organisations. Depending on the company, profits can include trading profits, income from investments and taxable gains. A sole trader normally pays Income Tax instead of Corporation Tax.
A CT600 is the Company Tax Return sent to HMRC, normally with supporting accounts and tax computations. Companies that receive a notice to deliver a return usually must submit it even if they made a loss or have no Corporation Tax to pay.
For most smaller companies, payment is due nine months and one day after the end of the Corporation Tax accounting period. The CT600 filing deadline is normally 12 months after that period ends. Companies with sufficiently large taxable profits may need to pay in instalments.
For the 2026 financial year, the standard small-profits rate is 19% and the main rate is 25%, with possible Marginal Relief between £50,000 and £250,000 of relevant profits. These thresholds are subject to adjustments, including for associated companies and short accounting periods.
Usually yes, if HMRC has issued a notice to deliver a Company Tax Return. A company reporting no tax due or a trading loss can still have filing obligations. The treatment of a dormant company depends on its circumstances and HMRC status.
Taxable profits can differ from accounting profits. Correctly incurred deductible expenses, capital allowances, losses and other available reliefs may affect the tax calculation. The company must meet the legal conditions and keep supporting records.
The old joint online service closed on 31 March 2026. Company Tax Returns are now generally submitted using appropriate commercial software. Companies House accounts are filed separately using its applicable filing routes.
Your first financial accounts may cover more than 12 months, but a Corporation Tax accounting period cannot. In that situation you may need more than one CT600 for the period covered by your first accounts. Check the actual dates with HMRC.
Fees depend on the company’s transaction volume, quality of bookkeeping records, tax computations, accounting periods and whether annual accounts or other support are required. Contact Samsaad to discuss a tailored quote.
